Things to remember
Hello Everyone!
With the Early Access release of Classic MapleStory World being less then 20 days away, I wanted to touch base with you all and go over a couple quick but important things to remember heading into Launch.
For the more passionate members of the community most of if not all of these things will already be known as they are no secret. However, there are many returning players whom which have not played MapleStory since they were kids and may find insightful.
The Economy
Having gotten the opportunity to be apart of the Closed Online Test quite a few things became apparent.
Brokestory: During the CoT2 early game players had quite a severe meso burn rate while grinding first job making every meso essential for fear of going bankrupt. Prioritizing Purchasing items such as Lemons as opposed to MP pots will be crucial. Another important thing to save money will be to not sell your ETC items to the general store for money early. But rather sell these items to other players that are trying to craft, merch or complete quests for a much greater profit. Which brings me to my next point.
Quests: Many early game quests give HP/HP potions as rewards and are highly recommended. If you'd like to see Specific quest rewards, MeowDB has a tool you can use here
Citizenship
In MapleStory Classic World there is a new Citizenship mechanic. Once you have arrived to Victoria Island you may pledge allegiance to a Henesys or Kerning. After pledging allegiance to a city, a exclusive item store will be unlocked.
This item stop will grant you discounts on items as well as exclusive items such as Potions, Scrolls and class specific gear. This item store will only sell you items depending on your Citizenship Level. To increase your Citizenship level head on over to the Community Board in most cities and complete Daily Tasks. You can also change which city you have Citizenship in anytime for a fee.
Community tools
We may be playing Classic but its still 2026, the playing field as evolved tremendously. Countless members of the Maple community have spent their time and efforts creating tools which streamline the Classic experience. One particular tool I can recommend is Meowdb. This phenomenal multi tool uses data from the Nexon and the community at large. I would highly recommend it both to new and experienced players.
Did I miss anything? If so feel free to comment down below!
Until then keep Mapling
